Council’s public gallery erupted into raucous cheering from Mosque protestors,
as the proposed Islamic Worship Centre at Currumbin was voted down 10 to 5 by councillors.
Chris Robbins led the charge against the Mosque and other councillors said her argument was so convincing some changed their stance and sided with her mid-meeting.
The decision, met with wild cheers and cries of ‘people power’ from the crowd.
