Construction of the walkway at the Coffs Harbour Jetty Foreshores is due to start within weeks of Council signing a licence agreement with the Australian Rail Track Corporation.
The walkway will be built on land on the eastern side of the railway line from close to the level crossing through to the jetty.
It will include new lighting and landscaping, as well as decorative elements.
The licence agreement will be signed in September, and the project will take about three months to complete.
