$185 million has been allocated in the state budget to build a second bridge over the Clarence River in Grafton.
Local member Chris Gulaptis says he’s delighted with the news which honours the coalition’s pre-election promise.
Mr Gulaptis says he’ll have a better idea on when work will begin when tenders are called for the project.
The budget has also slated $1.2 billion for the upgrade of the Pacific Highway to dual carriageway from the Oxley Highway to Ballina.
