A dog has saved its family from a monster brown snake on the Gold Coast.
One year old staffy, Jeff, discovered the six foot snake in a vegetable garden, close to where the family’s three young children normally play.
The brave pup alerted his owners to the creature then killed it but not before being bitten himself.
“The kids are always around there picking the herbs. I don’t know I think that’s what dogs do for their families.”
The vet bill to save Jeff hit the thousands – but his owners say their hero pooch is worth every cent.
