QUEEN’S BIRTHDAY HONOURS LIST – NEWCASTLE/HUNTER

Champion motorcyclist Casey Stoner is one of many people from the region today being recognised for their commitment to the community, receiving Queen’s Birthday Honours.
The former Kurri Kurri boy was appointed Members (AM) in the General Division, for his significant service to motorcycle racing.
Newcastle Councillor Andrea Rufo received an Order of Australia Medal for service to the community of the Hunter Valley, notable his roles as President for the Ethnic Communities Council of Newcastle and Hunter Region, Italian Welfare Organisation and Lazio Association of Newcastle and Hunter.

Dr Cameron Archer from Paterson
For significant service to agricultural education, and to heritage management and conservation.
Professor Nikolai Bogduk, from Newcastle
For significant service to medical research and education, particularly in the specialties of anatomy, spinal health and chronic pain management.
Casey Stoner
For significant service to motorcycle racing.
Between the ages of 6 and 14 Casey Stoner won 41 Australian dirt and long track titles and over 70 State titles.

For significant service to the community, particularly in the Hunter region.

For outstanding public service in the role of Multicultural Service Officer for the Department of Human Services within the Mid Coast NSW Zone.




I noticed on your list of OAM recipients that Ray Neilson, from Dungog was not mentioned however he did receive one as I was at a family celebration for him today.
