WYEE FIRE CONTAINED
October 5, 2012 at 10:24 am
Yesterday’s bushfire on the NSW Central Coast, that forced the evacuation of 10 homes and a school, has been contained.
Nearly 80 firefighters and several water bombing helicopters battled the blaze that broke out yesterday afternoon, burning 26 hectares of scrub at Wyee.
The crews managed to get it under control by 8pm last night.
The train line between Sydney and Newcastle was cut while a plant nursery and service station were also evacuated.
All train lines and roads have been opened and police and RFS are investigating the cause of the fire.
