Around 500 homes in Merrimac will soon be able to access faster internet, thanks to a trial rollout of the National Broadband Network.
Existing cables- used for pay TV- will be upgraded, and incorporated into the NBN.
We will get really super fast speeds, speeds equivalent to fibre to the premises on that existing network.
It really gives you the next level of density of data that the networks can carry so more people can get higher speed services off the same infrastructure.”
The trial will begin mid year.
