An elderly woman has been hospitalised after being kicked in the face in a violent, home invasion at East Kempsey early this morning.
Just after one o’clock, the woman and her 79-year-old husband saw a man walking past the window of their home, and called police.
Police say the man then broke into their Rudder Street property, pushing the 77-year-old woman to the floor and kicking her in the face, before fleeing with her handbag.
She was taken to Kempsey District Hospital where she was treated for facial and head injuries.
