The fight to save a precious koala colony was today taken all the way to Parliament House in Sydney,
Ballina Councillor Jeff Johnson and Lorraine Vass handed over a petition calling for the protection of the Wardell colony.
The group says the Woolgoolga to Ballina Highway upgrade threatens to wipe out the nationally significant koala colony.
They’re hoping the petition will encourage the state government to listen to the community and consider an alternative route.
