MAN CHARGED AT HEATHERBRAE DURING VEHICLE STOP

A loaded gun, drugs and cash have been seized from an allegedly stolen car, during a vehicle stop at Heatherbrae.

The grey Ford Ranger was reported to police after it was seen driving erratically on the Pacific Highway, south of Taree.

Police pounced on the man allegedly behind the wheel, at a Heatherbrae service station.

It’s alleged the 44-year-old was driving a car which had been stolen from a home in Burleigh Heads, Queensland last week.

After a vehicle search, police seized a loaded shortend rifle underneath the driver’s seat, methylamphetamine, cannabis and cash.

The man has been charged with several offences and will front court later today.
