A leak in his kayak has forced Scott Donaldson to postpone his journey across the Tasman.
The 43-year-old was back on dry land less than 24-hours after he left Port Macquarie to embark on the 2,000-kilometre paddle to Auckland.
It was his third attempt at the expedition, after his first and second attempts were foiled by satellite phone issues.
The Kiwi had spent three years planning the two-month journey, which was to raise awareness for asthma.
