Funding, for temporary works to tackle coastal erosion on Old Bar Beach, was announced today in a joint partnership between the state government and Mid-Coast Council.
$90,000 will go towards protecting the beach, until the Coastal Zone Management Plan is finalised.
“This first measure is one that we will try, and test, to move sand from the wash zone back to where there is erosion.”
The sand will be taken from the lower parts of the beach, and moved towards the sand dunes to protect the coastline from further damage.
