A quick stop in Newcastle’s CBD has always only cost 10 cents,
but this Christmas, the Newcastle Alliance and Newcastle Now want to spread the message.
Stickers are being placed on every meter to let the public know that 15 minutes of parking only costs 10 cents.
“I think it should be great in the build up to Christmas, there’s a lot happening in the city centre, there’s over 300 shops in the CBD, and we’re really hoping that people come in and use the city centre area”
It comes after council refused to allow 30 minutes of free parking in the CBD over Christmas.
