A 22-year-old man has been charged following a police pursuit in Newcastle last week.
Around 12.15pm, officers located a man driving in the Carrington area.
Police will allege the man reversed into an unmarked police vehicle at speed, causing significant damage to the car and injuring a Senior Constable.
A pursuit was initiated but later terminated due to safety concerns.
Following extensive inquiries, a 22-year-old man was arrested in Nelson Bay yesterday and was charged with a number of offences.
He will face Raymond Terrace Local Court today.
