OWEN NOT DRAWN ON FIXING GATES

Newcastle MP Tim Owen has shied away from giving a commitment that projects such as gridlock at the Adamstown rail gates would be looked at, now the state government potentially has the money to build an overpass.

The state government has given a commitment that 30 percent of the proceeds from the expected $1-billion sale of Newcastle Port would remain in the region.

The Member for Newcastle says “the government has already announced it will invest $340-million from the transaction in the revitalisation of the Newcastle CBD”
