FACS EMPLOYEES STAGE WALK-OFF AGAINST NEW COMPUTER SYSTEM
Employees at Tamworth’s Family and Community Services walked off the job today, in a bid to highlight problems with a new internal computer program.
Union delegates say the ChildStory program is not fit for purpose and has seen many records lost.
“Get the system fixed…Roll out better and more intense training. A lot of the trainers are actually working on the floor so they’re actually carrying a case load and trying to train their colleagues as well,” Stephen Mears, Public Services Association.
The Department says the system is significantly better than its predecessor, and that claims about errors are wrong.
It follows a number of other protests held at offices across the state.
