FUTURE PLANS TO EASE TRAFFIC CONGESTION IN PORT MACQUARIE

It’s been described as a “traffic nightmare” – Port Macquarie motorists in gridlock every morning and afternoon at Wrights Road roundabout.

Council and Roads and Maritime Services have just finished an area wide traffic study, aimed at helping to fix the problem.

  1. Jessica, This is not a new plan. The same plan was rejected by a sensible administrator whilst Port Macquarie did not have a counci because they had been sacked. Now that we have a new mayor the plan is being revisited. If the council is thinking long term the Orbital Road needs to be started from somewhere south of the golf club thus avoiding the Crestwood and Greenmeadows development areas. Wherever it starts it is going to be a difficult and expensive job due to the wetlands that it has to go through. Or is the plan to go through the Adventist School, Dahlsford Village, Emmaus and Greenmeadows Drive and ruin hundreds of people’s lives!
