Work has continued through the Christmas and New Years’ holidays to see work on Gunnedah’s new pool stay on schedule.
The $11-million upgrade will see a new 50-metre pool and kids wet play area, as well as improved disability access.
Demolition of the former outdoor pool has been completed, but the indoor pool remains open to the public.
“The excavation has been completed, a lot of the base of the new pool went in about a week or so ago, and this week they start to do they formations I guess of what will be the brand new pool,” Cr Jamie Chaffey, Mayor of Gunnedah Shire Council.
It’s still expected to reopen in October.
