BATES AND GIBSON HELP STEER THUNDER TO WBBL WIN

Hunter cricketers Sam Bates and Maisy Gibson are celebrating a four-wicket win, as the Thunder beat cross-town rivals the Sixers.

Bates and Gibson started by removing high profile openers Alyssa Healy and Ellyse Perry.

Bates then returned to the attack late in the innings to dismiss tail enders Lauren Smith and Kim Garth, finishing with figures of 3 for 21 from her four overs.
