TAMWORTH TOPPLED AT ARMIDALE SPORTSGROUND

Narrabri got off the mark at home in its War Veterans Cup cricket campaign, with a 42-run win over Gunnedah.

While Armidale took advantage of an understrength Tamworth side, scoring a win believed to be the team’s first over the Blues in a decade.

Kyle Taylor was a rock in the middle, smashing 83 of his team’s total of 185.

Skipper Todd Francis also provided some nuisance value with the bat, but truly shone with the ball, sending four batsmen back to the pavilion.

Tamworth all out for 105 in response.
