The project has been 15 months in the making, but today the tap was switched on for the residents of Baan Baa.
For the first time in the town’s history there is now have a secure supply of high quality water.
Narrabri Shire Council says the project does not only increase the liveability of Baan Baa but also improves safety during bushfires and dry times.
The project will use solar power to run the pumps to reduce ongoing running costs.
