DRUG POSSESSION CHARGES LAID AS SCHOOLIES CONTINUES

Despite 17 schoolies being arrested overnight, Gold Coast police say they’re pleased with overall crowd behaviour in the Surfers Paradise CBD overnight.

The arrests were mainly for drug-related possession offences, while fifteen schoolies were also issued with liquor infringements notices.

Of those arrested, 16 were male.

Seven non-schoolies were also arrested on charges relating to public nuisance and drug possession.
