PROTESTERS IN THE PILLIGA
Hundreds of people have taken to the dried up Bohena Creek bed in the Pilliga Forest near Narrabri, to protest against Coal Seam Gas Mining.
“NO CSG! NO CSG! NO CSG!”
The creek is near the site of the proposed Santos’ gas project, which would see 850 CSG wells drilled into the 95-thousand hectare site.
The group formed a human ‘no csg’ sign – protesters say salt waste is one the biggest concerns held by local farmers.
“We’re all here to deliver a really strong message that this state does not need this New South Wales Narrabri gas project.”
