BULLDOGS FIVE EIGHTH CLAIMS TOP GONG

Gunnedah five eighth Matt Brady was recognised as Group 4 rugby league’s best last night, named as player of the year at the competition’s awards ceremony.

Two seasons away from the game clearly didn’t affect the five eighth, leading the Bulldogs to the preliminary final.

While Narrabri’s Brenton Cochrane took out the top try scorer gong, crossing the line 37 times.

Collegian Warriors team mates Kim Resch and Abby Schmiedel scooped the League Tag honours.

Resch took out player of the year, while 28 tries in just 10 games saw Schmiedel claim another try scoring crown.

Mitch Dening and Kendall Horne were also unveiled as representative players of the year.
