ATTEMPTED ABDUCTION AT MUSWELLBROOK

Police are hunting for a man who attempted to abduct a girl at Muswellbrook yesterday.

The 10 year old was walking along Bligh Street near Cook Street between 4.30pm- 5pm when a man driving a light grey coloured four door sedan pulled up behind her.

He grabbed her and began to pull her towards the car.

She fought back, screaming for help, kicking and punching at her attacker and was able to break free.

The man fled, while she ran home and called the police.

He is described as being Caucasian, 196cm tall, aged between 20 and 30 with a slim build; brown eyes and had a black and brown short goatee beard.

He was last seen wearing a black hooded top and dark coloured pants.

The car is described as possibly being a 2002-2005 light grey BA model Ford Falcon sedan with a dent on the side at the rear of the car.
