MAN ALLEGEDLY ASSAULTS THREE WOMEN IN ONE MORNING

A man will face a north coast court today after he allegedly assaulted three women yesterday morning.

Police say a 70-year-old woman was walking her dog along Powell Street in Grafton around 8am, when she was approached by a man.

It’s alleged the man, aged 40, indecently assaulted the woman.

Shortly after, a 40-year-old woman was seated in her Toyota Hiace van on Hoof Street, when the man entered the vehicle and allegedly assaulted her.

He then ran towards a 55-year-old woman on the other side of the road, and allegedly committed a third assault.

Police arrested the man at the scene shortly after.

He was charged with assault with act of indecency, two counts of common assault, and attempting to escape custody.
