TWO BOYS RESCUED FROM CENTRAL COAST RIP

An 11-year-old boy has broken down as he spoke of being rescued from a rip on the New South Wales Central Coast yesterday.

Koby Bishop was swimming with a friend at The Entrance Channel just after 2pm when they started being pulled out to sea.

43-year-old Peter Dobos was walking past when he saw the boys in trouble and knew he had to help.

He and a senior constable swam out to the two children, who had become hysterical.

The rescuers carried both boys to the northern side of the channel, where they were safely reunited with their parents.

Police hope the incident will remind the people to remain vigilant in and around the water, while Koby’s mother is grateful her boy is safe.
