TROY BAYLISS SIGNS ON FOR SHOWGROUND SUPERMOTO RACE

Moving the Newcastle SuperMoto event from the foreshore to Broadmeadow Showground hasn’t hurt the event’s pulling power, with organisers revealing former Superbike world champion Troy Bayliss is among the high profile riders who’ve signed up for the September event.
“It doesn’t suit any one motorcycle discipline. Dirt track, speedway, tar, jumps, it’s not going to scare anyone away. It’s going to be tight and hard, fast racing.”
The track will begin to take shape this weekend.
“We’ve got a 2000 seat grandstand here which is as good as having the amphitheatre, but the benefit of here is that the spectators can be right around the track so you can walk around and see it all.”
