The region’s solar producers are set to benefit with the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal releasing its decision on feed-in tariffs.
From the 1st of July, customers will receive around 15 cents for every kilowatt hour they feed back into the grid.
The new rates are almost double the current agreement with customers now getting between five and seven cents for excess power.
