GOLD COAST DRIVER CRITICAL AFTER CRASHING INTO TREE

A 20-year-old man is in a critical condition after the car he was driving struck a tree on the Gold Coast this morning.

Police believe that around 5am, the car left the road on Cotlew Street in Southport, and crashed into a tree.

There were no other passengers in the vehicle at the time.

The driver was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital.
