Charges have been laid following the discovery of a sophisticated hydroponic set-up in an industrial unit near Newcastle.
Shortly after 2pm yesterday, police executed a search warrant at a premises on Teran Close in Whitebridge.
Officers allegedly located 146 cannabis plants and 161.5g of dried cannabis leaf during the search.
A man in his 30’s from Blacksmiths was subsequently charged with offences relating to the cultivation of the cannabis and possession of a prohibited drug.
He will appear in Belmont Local Court next month.
