ACCUSED KIDNAPPER REMANDED IN CUSTODY

A man is tonight in custody, charged with abducting a woman at Jesmond earlier this month.

31-year-old Rex Green didn’t appear before Newcastle Local Court today, and didn’t apply for bail.

He’s accused of threatening a 20-year-old woman at a unit, before forcing her into a Holden Commodore and driving away.

She was found at a Cameron Park house a short time later, while Green was arrested at Wallsend.

The matter will return to court in April.
