LEAVE THE HANDLING OF DEAD BATS TO OTHERS

FAWNA volunteers had their hands full at Wingham Brush today, with the recent heatwave taking a toll on flying foxes.

An increase in the number of dead flying foxes and microbats has been witnessed at various locations, including the popular Wingham boardwalk.

Residents are being warned to avoid touching the deceased animals.

But if you do come across an injured flying fox, you should contact your local wildlife rescue service.
