It’s been a week to remember for Mariners defender Trent Sainsbury.
Not only was the 21-year-old selected in the Socceroos squad for the first time – last night he also took out the prestigious Mariners Medal.
Voted for by the players – the award recognises consistency and contribution to the team throughout the season.
Sainsbury, who enjoyed a breakout year for the club, said he was humbled to receive the award.
