WEATHER: NEVER ENDING SUMMER OF HEAT

Moree is smashing heat records. They have now endured 36 consecutive days above 35 degrees melting away the old record of 17 and it’s far from over. It is likely that Moree will now endure further pain with the potential to reach 40 degrees or beyond for the next 7 days. Sydney is another notable record having just survived its hottest month in recorded history.

There is some relief tonight but only for residents on the Central Coast to Newcastle and further north to Port Macquarie thanks to a weak southerly change tonight bringing with it mostly high humidity, rather then refreshing rain. The heat will remain inland across the NW and Northern Rivers for the rest of the week. There will be some isolated shower and storm development during these days but they will highly localised.
