JANE GOLDSMITH RETURNS TO NEWS DESK

NBN journalist and presenter Jane Goldsmith will return to the weekend anchor chair this Saturday after taking some well earned time off, for the birth of her twins.

“I’m really looking forward to returning to work – presenting the news on weekends and, from April, reporting one day a week. It’s an exciting year ahead,” said Jane.

“I’ve always loved meeting the people of the Hunter and telling their stories, working alongside my wonderful colleagues at NBN”, she added.

Jane, who has just clocked up 15 years with NBN News, gave birth to twin girls Lucy and Elizabeth in April.

“The support from the community while our twin girls were in NICU at the John Hunter Hospital in April last year was extraordinary and the messages on NBN’s Facebook page gave us such a morale boost during those difficult days. I was humbled and will never forget the depth of support. Lucy and Elizabeth are now almost 10 months old and healthy, happy girls. Doting, 5 year old big brother James is about to start school,” she said.

While the challenges of raising a family are obvious, Jane says she’s looking forward to the challenges of TV news.

“With baby twins a little more shut eye at night would be nice, but there’s nothing a breaking story, the adrenalin rush of live TV and a little caffeine can’t fix,” she said.
