WOMAN FALLS DOWN CLIFF AT SOUTH WEST ROCKS
A woman was winched to safety, after falling down a cliff at South West Rocks last night.
She was walking with friends near the Trial Bay Gaol, when she slipped on rocks shortly before 6pm.
Police and paramedics stayed with her until the helicopter arrived from Lismore.
“Due to the failing light in the area, the medical crew were inserted on last light, and then it took approximately about an hour to stabilise the female before she was extracted out of there via wincher,” Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter’s Jimmy Keough said.
The 39-year-old was flown to Coffs Harbour Health Campus with leg and hip injuries.
