MAN CHARGED OVER HALLIDAYS POINT FATAL

A man is facing dangerous driving and drink driving charges, following a crash that killed a 60-year-old motorbike rider on the mid north coast.

Police say the male rider died on impact, when his BMW motorbike was struck by a four wheel drive on Blackhead Road at Hallidays Point yesterday evening.

The 55-year-old driver of the car was treated for shock at the scene, before being taken to Taree Police Station.

He was charged with dangerous driving occasioning death, negligent driving occasioning death and low range drink driving.

He’s due to face court in Taree on February 28.
