It’s been a decade in the making, but from tomorrow, Port Macquarie-Hastings Council will have its Floodplain Risk Management Plan on public exhibition.
The plan recognises the potential for substantial damage to the lower Hastings River floodplain should any major flooding occur.
The proposal outlines damage reduction and planning measures, including the construction of levees at North Shore and Settlement Point.
Raising a number of roads, including Fernbank Creek Road and Shoreline Drive, is also discussed.
