HUNTER HOMELESS CONNECT DAY ATTRACTS MORE THAN EVER BEFORE

Organisers of today’s Hunter Homeless Connect Day say it’s a positive – and a concern – that the event attracted more people than ever before.

The day helps attendees access basic services, with the free GP visits, employment consultations and haircuts all proving popular.

“We’ve got a real focus on health this year. You will find people that are homeless, or at risk of being homeless, that stress is enough to cause poor health.”

For the first time, optometrists were also on hand to provide eye checks.
