PASSENGER KILLED AFTER UTILITY COLLIDES WITH TREE NEAR PORT MACQUARIE

A male passenger has died as the result of a single vehicle crash near Port Macquarie last night.

Emergency services responded to reports of an accident on Hacks Ferry Road at Telegraph Point around 9pm yesterday.

On arrival, they found a Toyota Hilux had hit a tree.

The male driver was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital with serious injuries, while a male passenger died at the scene.

Another male passenger was transported to Port Macquarie Hospital with minor injuries.

The ages of the men involved are not yet known.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
