Some of the best triathletes in the country are here for the Gold Coast Triathlon – Luke Harrop Memorial at the Southport Broadwater Parklands on Sunday.
Declan Wilson will be one to watch in the Open Men’s race.
Last month, he took out the Mooloolaba Triathlon Oceania Cup title.
“To win this race would be a really big deal because I have heard lots of nice things about Luke Harrop and my current coach now used to coach him so it’s a big deal to represent him through triathlon or anything like that.”
Luke Harrop died tragically in 2002 when he was hit by a stolen car while on a warm up ride.
He was one of the Australia’s most respected and well-liked triathletes.
