For the first time the state government has released a business plan for the agricultural industry.
Created by industry leaders, it aims to ensure the continued growth of the $12 billion sector.
All 40 recommendations put forward were adopted in the plan.
Three key issues the document focuses on, include attracting investment, building work forces and driving innovation.
“What we want to see is profits generated in our farming community. If farmers are generating profits that’s going to attract younger people into our industry and that’s something that we sorely need.”
