Close to 30 Novocastrians are preparing to put their body on the line in the boxing ring tonight, all in the name of charity.
Organised by Action Boxing and Fitness at Tighes Hill, the competition marks the end of a 10-week boxing program.
So far $4,500 has been raised for local support service Nova for Women and Children.
It plans on spending the money at Trisha’s House, which provides emergency accommodation for those in need.
“This money today is going to help put in a playground, going to help fix up other things around that property,” said Kelly Hansen from Nova for Women and Children.
