EMPLOYEES TOLD TO GO TO WORK ON MONDAY
Hope remains for 40 laid-off north west Essential Energy employees, with the Fair Work Commission ordering the company find them meaningful work today.
Those made redundant had been told not to come in on Monday, but the employers were found to have breached their own Management of Surplus Employees Policy.
The orders provide short-term safety, with the Commission yet to make a decision on whether Essential Energy can introduce a policy allowing them to force redundancies onto workers.
