CENOTAPH FOCUS OF DISCUSSION

The Hastings community is being asked to help decide the future of Port Macquarie’s town cenotaph which is at risk of being seriously damaged by roots from nearby Norfolk Island pine trees.

Three solutions have been put forward to solve the problem, which include relocating the cenotaph, reconstructing its foundations, or removing the two trees.

Port Macquarie-Hastings Council has been working with the local RSL Sub-Branch and an arborist, but now community input is being sought.

A public information session will be held this Thursday.
