The Newcastle Jets have taken out the 2013 Northern Inland Football Challenge, defeating the Central Coast Mariners 2-1 at Tamworth’s Scully Park.
Scott Neville set up the first goal in the 30th, his pass finding Craig Goodwin who put the Jets ahead.
Within minutes, the same pair combined again, Goodwin’s diving header doubling the lead.
But the second half was all about the A-League champions, Brent Griffiths scoring the only goal of the half from a set-piece.
