PANTHERS TOO GOOD FOR AXEMEN

It was a slow start for both sides when the Sawtell Panthers hosted the Orara Valley Axemen yesterday afternoon.

Sawtell were the only ones to hit the scoreboard in the first half with Troy Robinson playing a well measured chipped kick that allowed Sawtell to toy their way over the line.

The second half saw Orara begin with a flash of class, using their back line to confuse Sawtell’s defence.

But frustrations were mounting, and a series of minor altercations saw four players sent from the field.

The Panthers were too controlled for the Axemen in the end, allowing them to run away with the 42 points to 6 victory.
