HUNDREDS WALK TO END DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ON THE COAST

The first ‘Walk the Talk’ march, to raise awareness of domestic violence, has been hailed a resounding success.

More than 300 people supported the event at the Gosford waterfront last night.

At the end of the walk, 45 candles were lit on the water….each representing a female life lost as a result of domestic violence this year.

“One in three women above the age of 16 will experience physical or sexual abuse in their lifetime… One in three. So it’s really important that we as a community recognise that this is wrong, and come out and do something about it.”

Organisers have already confirmed the walk will become an annual event.
