They’ve taken the first steps in a long march, they hope will take them to Canada’s Calgary Stampede in 2012.
The Hunter School of Performing Arts Marching Band was out in force over the weekend, performing in Hamilton and the Newcastle CBD.
The 80 strong band and its army of supporters have set a target of $250,000 to get to Canada.
They’re one of 25 bands selected to perform at the centenary celebrations of the Calgary Stampede.
